Recent Legionnaires’ Disease Outbreaks

Two inmates at a correctional facility in Stockton, California were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease in March, and one of those inmates has died. After Legionella was found in water samples collected from the facility water systems, an additional 18 inmates who had recently shown signs of pneumonia were tested for Legionella. Prison officials provided bottled water for drinking and bathing, closed some showers and equipment, and notified inmates and employees. Read more >
